Developed by our in-house designer team, fab-home´s flexible designs are capable of meeting the most stringent energy efficiency standards and can be configured to fit almost every layout including infill & laneway lots.

PASSIVE DESIGN | PASSIVE HOUSE

Passive Design is the strategic approach to all our designs, featuring superior insulation, high performance windows & doors, excellent air tightness, open floor layout, healthy indoor environment and highly efficient heat recovery.

Passive House is a specific design standard from Germany and Austria which fundamentally consists of an energy limit (heating/cooling), a quality requirement (comfort) and a defined set of Passive systems. Several components have an impact on whether the standard can be achieved or not.

For us, the Passive House standard is not a requirement, rather a goal.
In any way, your fab-home will consume up to 90% less energy than a standard home and is able maintain a comfortable temperature in winter and summer without or only little active heating and cooling.

CONSTRUCTION | BUILDER

Your Fab-home can be constructed by one of our professional builder partners in your area or a builder of your choice, in which case we would work closely together with your contractor to ensure proper execution.
Our designs are also available as high efficiency panelized pre-fabs, where the floor, wall and roof system is manufactured by our prefab partner and assembled on site within a few days. This method uses less material, ensures sustainable, high quality construction of the envelope under controlled conditions and greatly reduces the risk of time & budget overruns.

NEW: An advanced wood construction method from Europe is now available:
Modular construction using cross-laminated-timber technology. The CLT panels are manufactured offsite according to detailed plans and assembled onsite – quick, sustainable, precise and of highest quality.
